The coffee group should be lubricated after approximately 500 cups of coffee or once a month if you exceed this value. You should also clean and grease it if you hear it squeaking or straining during its cycle. You can buy Saeco grease directly here.
Procedure:
First of all, make sure to clean the coffee group thoroughly by running it under cold water. Avoid hot water as it dissolves grease.
To remove the coffee group from the machine:
Turn off the machine by pressing the Stand/by button.
Remove the ground coffee drawer and open the side hatch of the machine
To remove the coffee group, press the PUSH button and carefully remove it by sliding it outwards.
Cleaning the coffee group:
Rinse the coffee group with cold water, especially the upper filter and the rear area of the coffee group.
Warning: Do not put the coffee group in the dishwasher. Do not use detergent or soap to clean the coffee group. When you rinse the coffee group, grease goes . Remember to lubricate it frequently, ideally every 500 cycles.
MAPALGA tips:
- Consider ordering the inclined brush with its nylon head. It will allow you to access the corners of your coffee group to remove residue stuck to the elements.
- If your coffee group is very dirty, use theSAECO degreasing tabletsby diluting one tablet in a basin filled with water. You will then immerse the coffee group in it for 15 minutes before rinsing it thoroughly.
Lubricating procedure:
Grease:
Have a tube of Saeco 5 g grease. Do not use household oil, margarine, or even industrial lubricants, they are not qualified for this use. SAECO grease has food contact and lubrication qualities for this mechanism.
Side guides:
Apply Saeco grease evenly on each side to the two side guides inside the group.
Axis and central piece:
Apply Saeco grease on the axis and on the central part which slides
Replace the coffee group:
When the lubrication is finished, replace the coffee group by placing it on the lower guides, then pushing it until you hear the "click" of its correct engagement
close the machine door; replace the grounds container.
