In 1948, the company released the "Lampo" coffee maker, the first coffee machine to pass hot water through ground coffee. 

In 1952, the Gilda machine was born. It was presented at the Fiera in Milan and immediately attracted buyers with its small size, its closed body and its electric heating, controlled by a switch, a pressure relief valve and a thermostat incorporated in the boiler cap.

Its fluid lines and body bear the words “Gaggia – Gilda – Milano” as an emblem.

A new modernized version of the Gilda will then be launched in 1954 with two lever arms to further improve the erogation. It is an iconic model also known as "rabbit ears" due to the shape of its levers.

This was the first step in the global diffusion of espresso by GAGGIA, which has become an icon and symbol of the refined and elegant Italian lifestyle.

From then on, Gaggia is on the front line to help spread espresso machines thanks to machines that are constantly improving in terms of technology, performance, aesthetics and functionality.

The 1960s marked the growing success of the brand which continued its development.

In 1977, a big step was taken with the launch of the unforgettable Baby Gaggia.

In 1991, Gaggia launched the Gaggia Classic on the market, a machine still manufactured and considered one of the best domestic espresso machines in the world.
